here’s what you need to know

P.I.LATES is a Pilates studio rooted in the classical method, with two studios across the Cotswolds and a team who genuinely care about the practice. Every class we teach reformer, mat, barre or contrology  is built around one idea: movement should adapt to you, not the other way around. Every exercise has layers and adaptations, so whether you've never done Pilates before or you're returning after time away, you'll be met exactly where you are. Our instructors are there to guide and adapt with you from your very first session, in a space built on genuine community and lasting connections.

Movement for EveryBody

No two bodies move the same way, which is why we offer a range of classes and experiences to support every stage of your movement journey. We believe the best experience is formed through combining a range of disciplines.

P.I.LATES EVENTS

Beyond the studio, P.I.LATES brings its community together through a curated calendar of monthly events designed to support movement, connection and wellbeing. From restorative Pilates & Sound Bath evenings that combine mindful movement with immersive sound healing, to seasonal community gatherings such as picnics in the park, our events create opportunities to slow down, connect and recharge. Open to all levels, our events reflect the same commitment to quality, community and long-term wellbeing that defines every class at P.I.LATES.

  • NO, Every journey looks different and there is no level of fitness or flexibility needed to join a class at P.I.LATES. our classes are accessible to everyone regardless of age, gender or ability. Each exercise consists of different layers and adaptations to suit individual needs. Our class numbers are small to ensure that each client gets tailored levels and modifications. Our favourite achievement is helping clients touch their toes!

  • A valid question, Reformer Pilates uses a piece of equipment with springs and a sliding carriage, adding resistance and support to each movement. This makes it easier to build strength while also helping with alignment and control. Mat Pilates uses just your body weight on a mat, focusing on core strength, control and breath without any equipment. The best results come from combining both.

  • Whatever you feel comfortable in! We just ask that it is suitable for exercise and there are no zips on the backs of trousers please. You also need grip socks but you can purchase those with us.

  • Injuries - Pilates is great for injury rehabilitation and our team are trained to offer suitable adaptations and modifications for standard injuries however it is worth noting they are not trained to understand all injuries therefore if the injury is significant then you will need to be signed off by your GP/ physio before attending class. Our team would also benefit from a note from the physio listing any specific movements to avoid.

Pregnancy - The answer to this is not so simple but on the whole YES. You will need to check with your GP/ midwife that they are happy for you to engage in Pilates. If so, then our team are trained to offer specific adaptations and modifications to keep you and your baby safe.
