Pilates trains your brain to focus better, when most of us think of meditation we may think of more of a still and sleep state, however it is more a form of mind to body connection and focus. Whilst your teacher in queuing you on intricate details of how to move your body, you are focusing and thinking on nothing else. This can help with many of stress related issues such as insomnia, anxiety and depression. The breathing techniques alone can help blood circulation and help to reset the nervous system.
Deeper muscle activation means better function of the nervous system.
