The Roll Up is a classic exercise designed to strengthen the abdominals, increase flexibility , length hip flexors and improve back mobility. So what is there to dislike?
completing a full roll up with full control can take years of practice, but is one of the most rewarding exercise as you see your own progression with it. Some may never get the full roll up and that is okay, do you know why ? Although weak abs and little core strength are our go to blame, actually body shape and proportions have huge part to play. Short limbs and long bodies acting as a counter balance, not to mention a flat lumbar are just a couple of the 10 examples I could think of.

The main objective of a roll up is to create the right shape and the right engagement.
whether you have legs bent or long we aim to create the letter 'C' with our spine, this will enable a deep core connection and flexibility in the spine. The other is to use the breath, remember - Inhale to prepare-exhale to move.
